Defining currency, percent, date, number, Boolean, string, text area dynamic attributes

This section describes how to create these dynamic attribute types:

  • The Currency format type is used for general monetary values.
  • The Percent format type multiplies the cell value by 100 and displays the result with a percent symbol.
  • The Date format type displays date and time numbers as date values.
  • The Number format type is used for general display of numbers.
  • The Boolean format type treats a cell value as a Boolean. A value of 0 is false and anything else is considered true.
  • The String format type treats a cell value as a string.
  • The Text Area format type treats cells as text even when a number is in the cell. The data is displayed exactly as specified.
  1. Click the Home icon.
  2. Select Business Configuration > Configuration Set-specific Settings > Dynamic Attributes Configuration.
  3. Click the link for the attribute type you want to create.
  4. Click the Dynamic Attributes tab.
  5. Click Add Attribute and specify this information:
    Name
    Specify a name for the attribute.
    Format Type
    Select a format type.
  6. Optionally, select a context for the attribute by selecting one or more of the check boxes. The context refers to where the attribute will be available. An attribute can have different values within the context.
    If you do not select a context, the attribute value stays the same.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Optionally, select the Dimension Details check box. Select this check box to add the dynamic attribute to a category using the Category Configuration tab.

Click Edit to change a dynamic attribute. Use caution when editing an attribute as it is associated with data.

Click the Delete icon to delete a dynamic attribute. You cannot delete predefined dynamic attributes.
