Activating and configuring drivers

You can use general ledger accounts as drivers, or measures, or you can define manual drivers.

To use accounts or measures as drivers, you must select the entities to which the driver is available.

  1. Click the Home icon.
  2. Select Applications > Financial Applications > Allocation > Configuration > Driver Activation.
  3. Select an entity.
  4. In the Manual Drivers section, specify a description for a blank manual driver.
  5. In the Driver column, select the check box to activate the driver.
  6. In the Entity column, click the Edit icon.
  7. Select the entities to which the driver is available then click Close.
  8. In the Modify column, click the Configure icon.
  9. Select a financial year and version to which the driver applies.
You can configure a driver for as many combinations of year and version as required. But each driver can have only one reference dimension.
  10. In the Data Area section, select the reference dimension for the driver.
The hierarchy of the selected dimension is displayed in the Define Driver Values section.
  11. In the Define Driver Values section, specify the driver value in each period.
If you specify a driver value on a consolidated, or parent, element, the value is spread between its base, or child, elements. If you specify a driver value on a base element, the parent element is adjusted.
  12. Optionally, select a different combination of year and version and specify the driver's values.
