Report templates

Report templates and the Report Wizard provide a way for users without advanced skills to create and edit complex reports.

Report templates define the functionality of reports based on them, not their appearance. To specify the format and appearance of reports, use style sheets.

All parameters of a report template can be specified as variables. If variables are used throughout, reports created from the template can be used with a variety of data sources, without having to be redesigned.

To create reports based on report templates, you use the Report Wizard. You can access the Report Wizard from the Create Report dialog or by selecting Extras > Report Wizard (New Report).
