Displaying the Preview pane
The Preview pane displays the elements of a dimension, hierarchy, list, or named set selected in the Database Structure or on the worksheet.
To open the Preview pane, right-click an object in the Database Structure and select . Or, select . The pane opens below the List Designer and is enabled when you select a list. To search elements in the Preview pane, click .
You can display only element captions or both the caption and the unique name. Right-click the Element Caption column heading and select the element formats to display. You can also display element attributes.
When looking at lists, you can only show attributes that are selected in the Attributes pane. When looking at hierarchies or dimensions, you can search all attributes.
If you drag an element from the Preview pane to the worksheet, the Insert Elements dialog is displayed. In the Output format list, specify whether to display the unique name or the caption.
Preview pane options
To preview changes to a list automatically, click . Otherwise, you must click to update the preview.
The Preview pane contains a Search option. You can search in the element caption, element unique name or in an attribute.
