Moving a database to a different cluster node

If there are two or more cluster nodes, and you have the Administer OLAP Database application permission, you can move a database from one cluster node to another. You cannot move a database that is assigned to a dedicated cluster node. You can perform the move in any dashboard that includes the Databases widget.

  1. Select, for example, Dashboards > OLAP > Databases.
  2. In the actions column, click the right-pointing arrow.
  3. In the Move Database to a Different Cluster Node dialog box, select one of these options:
    Option Description
    Move database now and disconnect users You are warned that any users connected to the database may lose work.
    Wait until all users have disconnected before moving the database The number of currently connected users is indicated.
  4. Select one of these options:
    Option Description
    Start database Starts the database after it has been moved.
    Put the database on standby The database remains on standby after it has been moved.
  5. Click Move Database.
