Adding a relational database provider

Microsoft SQL Server is supported by default as the relational source for business data. You can configure additional relational providers, such as PostgreSQL and Oracle that can be used as a business database in Infor d/EPM. Install the required ODBC and OLE DB database connectivity providers on all machines where you plan to install services.

Custom connectivity providers require a system DSN to be defined on all machines where services are installed. Because the data source is configured only once, the name of the DSN must be the same on all machines.

  1. Select Dashboards > Farm Administration > Global Settings.
  2. Click + Add.
  3. Specify this information:
    Name
Specify the name of the provider.
    Parameter Prefix
Specify the required parameter prefix. For example, specify: for Oracle and @ for Redshift.
    ODBC Driver
Specify the name of the ODBC driver to use. The driver must be available on all machines from which the connection is made.
    OLE DB
Specify the name of the OLE DB driver to use. The driver must be available on all machines from which the connection is made.
    Type in Application Studio
A relational list is defined by a SQL query. You might need different versions of the same query to account for differences in the way in which different database providers implement SQL. You can write multiple list SQL queries and store them as a single list. The name you specify in this field is displayed as a database type in the relational list designer in Application Studio.
