Creating dynamic attributes

Dynamic attributes of an employee, job, and position change according to the context in which they are viewed. For example, a person or team that is responsible for a product changes according to different phases of the production cycle.

You can create additional dynamic attributes for a job, position, employee, or employee assignment.

  1. Click Home.
  2. Select Module Settings and Budgeting > Configuration .
  3. Depending on the element for which to create a new attribute, select one of these options:
    Option Path
    Jobs Job Dynamic Attributes > Add Attribute
    Positions Position Dynamic Attributes > Add Attribute
    Employees Position Dynamic Attributes > Add Employee Attribute
  4. Specify Name and Format Type.
  5. Select one of these format types:
    Format type Description
    Boolean Used for attributes that support only TRUE or FALSE values. To select a correct state for a selected job, change the switch icon on the Job details page.
    Dimension List Specify the cube, dimension, and hierarchy. Use Dimension List to limit the values that are available for selection for hierarchy items. On the Job details page, Select one of the list items for a selected job .
    List Select an existing hierarchy or create a new hierarchy. To create a new hierarchy, click Add List, specify the name, and add list items. To confirm your configuration click OK. Use List to limit the values that are available for selection for hierarchy items. You can define your own hierarchy list and list items
    String String format type treats any cell value as a string.
    Text Area Text Area format type treats cell value, including numbers, as text. The data is displayed exactly as specified.
  6. To create a new attribute, Click Add.
