Methods of creating multidimensional access cubes

Before assigning cell data access permissions to cubes, you must create the multidimensional access cube and appropriate roles in d/EPM Administration. To assign access rights to dimension elements in a database, you must have Administrator OLAP Database permission to that database.

There are different ways to create multidimensional access control cube depending on what modeling tool is being used. This table describes the tools and methods for MDAC creation:

Component Task Reference
Designer Create new MDAC cube with Cell Lock type, create MDAC cube name (preferably starting with # symbol) and add dimensions the needed to be included into MDAC cube.

Select the cube that should be secured, open properties and use the Cube-to-Cube Relations tab to assign the MDAC cube to it.
