Editing report properties

Which report properties you can edit depends on whether a report is a protected report or a custom report. For protected reports, you can only add or edit translations of the names and descriptions of the reports and specify whether they are shown in the business applications' navigation.

  1. In Business Modeling, select Custom Extensions > Reports.
  2. In the navigation structure, select the report to edit.
  3. Edit this information as you require:
    Name
    Specify the name to display in the navigation structure.
    The maximum length of a report name is 20 characters.
    Optionally, click the Translate icon and specify a translation in one or more languages.
    Description
    Optionally, specify a description of the report.
    Optionally, click the Translate icon and specify a translation in one or more languages.
    Section
    Select a section of the navigation to which to move the report.
    Application Unique Name
    Select the custom application in which the report exists.
    If you select the wrong application, this message is displayed when a user tries to access the report:
    The linked widget could not be found. Ensure that it exists and you have permission to view it.
    Report Unique Name
    Specify the unique name of the report. This is available in the Properties pane of the report in Application Studio.
    If you specify an invalid unique name , this message is displayed when a user attempts to access the report:
    The linked widget could not be found. Ensure that it exists and you have permission to view it.
    Show in navigation
    Switch on the option to show the report in the navigation structure of the business applications, or switch the option off to hide the report.
    Report Parameter
    Report parameters provide the opportunity to add functionality or dynamism to reports. Parameters that you specify are published to the REPORTPARAM attribute of the BPDNAVIGATION dimension and can be read from there.
    This can be useful, for example, if you want to provide multiple entries in the navigation that refer to the same physical report, with different settings or entry points. Where an entry point could be different elements of a structure selection which drive the list of items to show.
    Order Position
    To move the report up the section in which it is placed, specify a lower number. To move the report to the top of the section, specify 0.
  4. Click Save.
