Using a number format to display an image in a cell

You can specify [graphic] as a user-defined number format in a cell. If the name of an image is specified in the cell then the cell displays that image. For example, specify the name of an image in a variable and drag the variable into a cell. The image that is displayed varies according to the value of the variable.

If an invalid image name is specified, the cell displays a red cross. If no image name is specified, nothing is displayed in the cell.

  1. Right-click a cell in Design mode and select Format Cells.
  2. Select User-defined as the category on the Number Format tab.
  3. In the User-defined format instruction field, specify [graphic].
