Activating synchronization

This section describes how to activate synchronization.

When you activate synchronization for specified dimensions, the required alternate hierarchies for Workforce Planning are created automatically during the dimension creation process. The Workforce Planning alternate hierarchies include technical elements that support data storage (both numeric values and string configurations) on consolidated elements which is not possible in the default hierarchies. Workforce Planning requires these alternate hierarchies to function correctly. The configuration set and version activation for Workforce Planning is possible only after the alternate hierarchies are created.

  1. Start Designer.
  2. Select Configuration > Planning Settings.
  3. Select Click here to change the dimension settings.
  4. Activate the Job, Analysis dimensions 01 through 05, 07 through 11, and all Segment dimensions.
