FTE workbooks
Workforce Planning provides an FTE Summary report for indirect and direct labor planning. The report uses FTE Summary templates to display data and the results of calculations that were entered through FTE workbooks by planners and approvers. It provides management with a workforce overview across the whole organization.
These headcount workbooks are available as templates in the Workbook Wizard:
- FTE Summary workbook
- FTE Summary Dynamic workbook
- FTE Summary Top Down workbook
FTE workbooks are a tool to support processes that are related to achieving the ideal number of employees working in your company.
The FTE summary templates that you can select include factors that affect the labor force. Their effects are reflected in calculations when factor values are entered by planners.
The goal is to compare actual and ideal FTE numbers. Ideal workforce numbers represent both the direct and indirect labor that would allow the company to fulfill its production requirements. These numbers are part of the approved FTE plan. The actual FTE numbers represent the actual workforce that is available within the company. You can use the FTE workbooks to submit requests to close the gap between actual and approved workforce numbers.
