Use cases for allocation workbooks
Allocation workbooks reflect labor processes in your company. You can use the workbook structure to create multiple templates to fit different business scenarios.
Use cases that require the use of allocation workbooks include these examples:
- Transfer of working hours across different dimension
selections.
For example, if a temporary labor reallocation results in time that is spent outside the employee's organization, the reallocation should be reflected in the system. To correctly reflect the time spent, information about the reallocation is required for efficiency and utilization reports that are available in the Performance Overview report.
- Conversion of hours from one time classification to another.
If, for example, the time tracking system does not provide detailed information about employees' time spent, allocation workbooks can be set up to discharge certain amounts from one account to another. The allocation workbooks can provide the required level of information about time spent. This information is required for the efficiency and utilization reports that are available in the Performance Overview report to correctly reflect the time spent.
- Transfer of the actual FTE numbers between selected elements of different dimensions.
