Service Controller
The Service Controller must run to enable you to start or configure services. If you connect to a farm, then you can see other settings and services.
From the Service Controller tab you can set the startup mode, stop or restart the controller manually, specify an account under which all the services run, and configure a port.
In the Control area, specify the startup type. Select automatic, manual, disabled, or delayed. By default, the Service Controller starts automatically when you restart your machine. It subsequently starts local services. If the startup type of your SQL Server service is Automatic (Delayed), then you must select the same startup type of the Service Controller service. Matching the startup types is only important if SQL Server has delayed start.
You can configure two accounts under which the services run. The global account indicates which account must be used by all machines of a farm. The locally used account is used by the local Service Controller.
Ensure that the same local account is used on all machines of a farm.
In the Log On As area, edit the Account or Locally used account. Select the account type, specify and confirm the password, and click .
