Data connections
Data connections are used wherever Infor d/EPM components connect to data. They replace the database aliases and global data sources of previous versions. There are different types of data connection for different data sources.
In d/EPM Administration select . Select an application to view its data connections.
These types of data connection are supported:
- OLAP
When you create an application in the Manage Applications dashboard and select the OLAP Database capability, an database containing only the #_TABACC cube is created. A connection to the database is automatically added. You can configure whether the connection can be used in Application Studio and Application Engine. You can define connections to the OLAP databases of other applications.
- Relational providers
Relational connections can be used in these ways:
- In Application Studio as a source of reporting.
- In Load Jobs and Changelog configuration for OLAP.
- Other XMLA Providers
These include Microsoft Analysis Services and OLAP running in a foreign farm.
