Migrating OLAP databases

There is a maximum of one OLAP database for each application.

To create reports and dashboards that use several OLAP databases, use data connections to link to OLAP databases of other applications in Application Studio.

Before migrating the OLAP database, ensure that all required roles have been created in the Data Roles or Application Roles dashboards.

When the OLAP database starts, the _GRP dimension is updated with the roles that exist in the application. If the roles are not available, the GRP elements are dropped, losing the permissions defined for them.

See "Exporting and importing OLAP databases" in the "d/EPM Administration" section.

  1. Save the Infor BI 11 OLAP database, to make sure all data are stored to disk.
  2. Create a .zip file of the folder of the OLAP database to migrate. The .zip file must have a flat structure with no sub folders.
Note: On import, the db.ini file is ignored. No settings are imported.
  3. In d/EPM Administration, select Dashboard > OLAP > OLAP Databases to import the .zip file to the target OLAP database.
  4. Select Dashboard > OLAP > Database Settings to check the database settings.
  5. Select Dashboard > OLAP > Databases to restart the OLAP database.
  6. Use Self-Service, d/EPM Administration or Application Studio to check that all data has migrated as expected.
