Web authentication options

When creating a new farm, you must decide which web authentication to use.

These options are available:

  • Basic

    When using Basic security in the web, the client applications also use Basic security.

  • LDAP

    When using LDAP security in the web, the client applications also use LDAP security.

  • IFS

    When using IFS security in the web, the client access security can be configured to use either Basic or IFS security. Windows authentication can be used through AD Federation Service (ADFS) in IFS. Implement ADFS 3.0 and configure IFS. You can find detailed instructions in these guides:

    Click Show All Product Lines. Scroll down to Infor OS and select 12.0.x

Depending on the web authentication you choose, the installation steps can differ. We recommend that you first choose your authentication system before you start the installation.

Changing the web authentication

Before changing the web authentication settings for an existing farm, ensure that nobody has any content checked out to this web authentication setting.
