Installing on multiple machines
Distributed installations are the best choice to use the scalability
and stability options of the services-based architecture.
For hardware recommendations for different services and typical enterprise architecture topologies see the Hardware and Software Recommendations section.
We recommend that you start by installing all services on a single machine and set up the farm initially as described in these topics:
- Installing a farm with basic web access security.
- Installing a farm with IFS web access security.
- Installing a farm with LDAP web access security.
- Configuring the farm.
OLAP databases run only on cluster nodes. OLAP cluster nodes do not need to have OLAP Manager or Worker registered to the farm.
