Creating a data connection to the Staging database

Working with relational modeling requires data sources, from which you load data into the Staging or Integration databases. We recommend that you always configure a connection to the Staging database. You can also add connections to other relational data sources.

To create a data connection to Staging:

Select Dashboards > Applications Administration > Data connections..
Select the application to which to add the connection.
Click Add and select Relational Providers.
On the General tab, specify a name for the connection.
We recommend that you specify Staging as both the name and the unique name.
On the Connection tab, select Use built-in staging database.
Test the connection and click Save.
