Cleaning up the sample data

The DEPM OLAP database, which is created during the installation, contains sample data for a fictional entity called Genesis. The sample data includes sample organizations, segments, intercompany relationships, and so on. The sample data can be used to verify that Infor d/EPM has been correctly installed and configured but is not intended for use in a production environment. The sample data model has the correct structure but the data that it contains must be removed.

  1. Start Designer.
  2. Go to Configuration > Planning Settings.
  3. In Common Settings, set the Activate Advanced Settings option to Activated.
  4. Go to Segments > Segment 1 and delete all unprotected segment elements.
    Repeat this step for all dimensions in Segment folder.
  5. Select File > Recreate Database to update the OLAP database and remove any dependencies on dimensions and hierarchies.
  6. Go to Organizational Structures and delete all unprotected elements from the Entity and Organization dimensions.
  7. Go to Chart of Accounts > Accounts and delete any accounts under TOTAL_ACCOUNT that are not required.
    Do not delete elements under any other root dimensions.
  8. Go to Chart of Accounts > Schedule Details and delete the unprotected elements below TOTAL_ASSETCATEGORY.
    Do not delete any other elements.
  9. Go to Configuration > Planning Settings > System Elements and configure the required top accounts.
  10. Go to Analytical Structures and delete all base elements under the BDPANALYSIS_6 dimension.
  11. Go to Configuration > Planning Settings.
  12. In Common Settings, set the Cash Flow option to Disabled.
  13. Go to Cash Flow > Cash Flow Accounts and delete the structure leaving just one top element.
  14. Go to Currencies > Currency Settings and verify that the correct currencies are enabled.
    At least one currency must be enabled as the group currency.
  15. Go to Configuration > Planning Settings.
  16. In Common Settings, set the Activate Demo Cube option to Deactivated.
  17. In Calendar Settings, configure the start and end dates for the time dimensions.
  18. In Currency Settings, delete the sample exchange rate sets and deactivate currency conversion.
  19. Go to Workforce Budgeting and delete all unprotected elements in these dimensions:
    • Employee
    • Job
    • Position
  20. Go to Workforce Planning and delete all unprotected elements in these dimensions:
    • Planning Drivers
    • Planning Driver Category
    • Optionally, Quantity Unit
    • Optionally, Secondary Quantity Unit
  21. Select File > Settings.
  22. Go to Model and select Clear OLAP Database.
    Caution: 
    This step deletes all sample data as well as any data loaded from the DEPM OLAP database.
