Specifying internal and external sales relationships

You specify which internal entities each entity in a configuration set trades with. You also specify which of the entities in the configuration set trade with external customers. If intercompany relations are not enabled for a configuration set, you can specify only whether the entities in the configuration set trade with external customers. For each internal and external trading relationship you can specify which organizations and segments are applicable.

If intercompany relations are enabled for a configuration set, all entities in the configuration set are displayed in a matrix. The name of each entity forms both a column heading and a row heading. If intercompany relations are not enabled, the entities in the configuration set are displayed in a list.

Click the Home icon.
Select Applications > Sub Plan > Sales > Configuration Sales > Assign to Business Relations.
Click Load Default Configuration.
If two partner entities trade with each other, select the check box in the matrix at the intersection of the two entities.
If an entity trades with external customers, select External.
For each trading relationship, click the Configure icon next to the check box.
The segments which the entities have in common are listed.
For each segment, click Not Set and specify the cost groups that are applicable to the trading relationship between the two entities.
For each segment, click Not Set and specify the sales groups that are applicable to the trading relationship between the two entities.
Optionally, click Set as default to apply the same business relationship to all selected combinations.
If organizations are enabled on the configuration set, click the Configure button in the segment and specify the organizations to use in each segment.
If the combination of segment, cost group, and sales group is valid, a check mark is displayed.
