Updating commercial and custom applications

An application cannot be used while it is being updated. The update takes the application offline.

  1. Select Dashboards > Applications Administration > Applications.
  2. Select the application to update.
    Optionally, click Update History.
  3. Click Update.
  4. Browse to the .biapplication file with which to update the application and click Next.
  5. Conflict resolution options are displayed. The options differ according to the type of application. For a commercial application, select one of these options:
    Option Description
    Overwrite The existing object is replaced by the object in the import package.
    Rename The name of the existing object is changed to the name of the object in the import package.
  6. For a custom application, select one of these options:
    Option Description
    Overwrite The existing object is replaced by the object in the import package.
    Skip The object is not overwritten or updated.
  7. Optionally, select Put the application online on finish.
  8. Click Finish.
