Stopping a service instance

You can stop a manager or worker instance of a service. Stopping the service instance deactivates the instance. A stopped instance is not deleted from the farm but it ceases to receive requests. You can start a stopped service instance.

Note: You cannot stop the last remaining instance of a service worker or manager. This restriction does not apply if you stop services in Service Expert.
  1. Select Dashboards > Farm Administration > Services.
  2. In the Services widget, click the service to stop.
    The Managers and Workers widgets list the instances of the selected service.
  3. Click the manager or worker service instance to stop and click Stop in the Status widget.
  4. Click OK.
