Workforce Budgeting roles

This section describes application roles that are specific to Workforce Budgeting.

To start the workforce budgeting process, you must complete global configuration, which requires a set of application roles. A user can be assigned to multiple application roles. For example, to set up business structures and complete global configuration and Workforce Budgeting configuration, a user must be a Business Modeling Administrator, Global Configuration Modeler, and WB Modeler.

These application roles are specific to Workforce Budgeting and enable users to set up Workforce Budgeting and access budgeting capabilities:

  • WB Modeler
  • WB Planner
  • WB Read Only
  • WB DP Requester
Note:  Adding new data roles to users is supported. But, to ensure correct access to the module, users must always be assigned to at least one of these Workforce Budgeting roles: WB Modeler, WB Planner, WB Read Only.

WB Modeler

Users of this application role have full access to configuration and reporting capabilities of the Workforce Budgeting module. The WB Modeler has access to these options:

  • Configuration section:
    • Workforce Budgeting Configuration
    • Job Attributes
    • Position Attributes
    • Employee Attributes
    • Load and Calculate Data
    • Step and Grade Salary Table
    • Supplemental Pay and Benefit
    • Job Definition
    • Calculate Data
    • Scenario
  • Data Entry section:
    • Positions
    • Employees
    • Employee Roster
  • Reporting section:
    • Allocation Report
    • Workforce Detail Report
    • Financial Summary Report
    • Version Comparison Report
    • Highest Step Report
  • Data Transfer section

WB Planner

Users of this application role have full access to Workforce Budgeting reporting capabilities. Users have limited access to the module configuration capabilities. These options are accessible:

  • Configuration section:
    • Calculate Data
    • Scenario
    • Read-only access to Job Definition
  • Data Entry section: Write access to data entry pages
  • Reporting section: Access to all reports

WB Read Only

Users of this application role have limited, read-only access to the module configuration and read-only access to data entry and reporting. These options are accessible:

  • Configuration section: Read-only access to Job Definition
  • Data Entry section: Read-only access to data entry pages
  • Reporting section: Read-only access to all reports

WB DP Requester

Users of this application role have access to request new positions through decision packages. Decisions packages must be first activated in Business Modeling. Select Business Modeling > Manage Model > Activate Modules.
