Methods of creating dimension access cubes

Before assigning data access permissions to dimensions, you must create the dimension security cube and the appropriate roles in d/EPM Administration. To assign access rights to dimension elements in a database, you must have Administrator OLAP Database permission to the database.

There are different ways to create a dimension access control cube depending on what modeling tool is being used. This table describes the tools and methods for DAC creation:

Component Task Reference
Designer Set the permissions on any of the elements of the secured dimension and recreate the dimension. Permissions
ImportMaster Open dimension properties and set the createdac property on the Settings tab to Create DAC Cube with the name of the DAC cube from the dac setting. See the ImportMaster online help.
d/EPM Administration Select the Enable Cube Access Control option on the Database Structure dashboard and either select an existing DAC Cube or create a cube using the Create New Cube option. Creating a Dimension Access Control (DAC) cube
