Mapping to a flat source table

  1. Select Dashboards > OLAP > Edit Database.
  2. Select the database to administer.
  3. Click the Dimensions node of the database structure.
  4. Click the Hierarchies icon of the dimension for which to create mappings.
  5. Click the Mappings icon of the hierarchy.
  6. Click New Mapping.
  7. Specify a name for the mapping.
  8. Optionally, add comments to the mapping.
  9. In the Data Connection field, select the data connection that connects the application to the staging database.
  10. Select Flat Table as the source data type.
  11. Select the source table.
  12. In the Element Name Column field, select the source column that identifies the name of the elements in the source.
    For example, a CurrencyName column in a currency table, or a ProductName table in a table of products.
  13. Optionally, in the Element Type Column field, select a source column that identifies the type of elements in the source.
  14. Optionally, in the Element Order Column field, select the source column that identifies the order of the elements.
  15. Optionally, map attributes to columns in the source table.
  16. Click Save.
