Logging information
Log information is written in these places:

- Installation log files
- The log files of Setup_dEPM_Services are created in the Temp folder of the user who launches the setup. For example: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\MSIxxxxx.LOG

- Expert log files
- By default, the log files for farm configuration
Infor.BI.Service.Configurator.log
andInfor.BI.Administration.Configurator.log
are in this folder: Program Files/BI/Services/Tools/binLogging is disabled by default. In the Service Expert, select Enable logging check box. The location can be changed, but not the file names.
and select theYou cannot disable logging in the Farm Expert. There, you can only select the level of logging.

- Log service database
- All services log to the log DB during their runtime including the
time when the farm was configured by the Farm Expert. Certain tasks are logged to the log DB and not to the
expert log files. For example, during these actions:
- Installing standard applications: Repository Service log, Administration Service log, Configuration Service log.
- Creating the Integration database: Configuration Service log, Modeling Service log, Administration Service log.
- Loading the plug-ins: Dashboards Service log

- Windows event log
- When the Log service is unavailable or when a failure during service startup or shutdown happens, the corresponding log entries are logged into Windows event log.

- Client log files
- This logging is disabled by default. When enabled Application Studio (
AppStudio
) and Application Engine Process Editor (ProcessEditor
) log information to the client log files. Be aware that client operations can trigger actions on services, which are logged to Log service database and not to the local file.
