Installation procedure for multiple machines

After the installation and configuration of the farm, you can start adding machines to the farm. Install the services on dedicated servers.

You can install the services separately by running the individual setup file for each service. You can also use the Setup_dEPM_Services.exe file and select services to be installed. For example:

  • Run Setup_OLAP_Service.exe file to install only OLAP.
  • Run Setup_Application_Studio_Service.exe to install Application Studio services.
  • Run Setup_dEPM_Services.exe to install several services.

Each single-setup file includes these components:

  • The Service Expert is required for these actions:
    • Adding the service to an existing farm.
    • Configuring global security and global settings.
    • Starting the service.
  • The Service Controller is required for these actions:
    • Enabling remote configuration of each service through administration web UI.
    • Ensuring that services are running.
