Documenting purchase information

  1. Select Financial Consolidation > Parameterization > Parameterization Group > Ownership Management > Entities Overview and specify the context.
  2. Click Add Change Request.
  3. Specify the context of the purchase.
  4. Click the Participation Information tab.
    The Buy option is preselected.
  5. Specify this information:
    Purchase Date
    Specify the date of the purchase.
    Consolidation Stage
    Specify the consolidation stage at which the purchase is recognized.
    Participation
    Specify the percentage change in participation.
    Control
    Specify the percentage change in control.
    Purchase Price
    Specify the purchase price in the local currency of the acquired intercompany.
    Hist. Rate Owner
    Specify the historical rate to convert all values into the local currency of the buying entity.
    Hist. Rate Group
    Specify the historical rate to convert the local currency balances into any group currency that is configured.
  6. Optionally, specify the values in the local currency of the intercompany for the accounts under Equity and Hidden reserves. All values are translated into the local currency of the buying entity and into the relevant group currencies based on the specified rate values.
    Equity accounts are accounts that are affected by the purchase. Hidden reserves accounts are accounts in which hidden reserves are realized during the purchase.
    Goodwill is calculated automatically.
    To configure which accounts are displayed under Equity and Hidden reserves, select Business Modeling > Business Objects > Financial > Group Accounts. Then, select the required accounts in the Equity column or Reserve column, or both.
  7. Optionally, calculate goodwill and hidden reserves amortization.
  8. To save the information, click one of these options:
    Option Description
    Save Participation Information Saves the information.

    You cannot edit saved information.

    We recommend that you save information only if the financial statements, including the ownership changes have been completed. This is to ensure data security and validity.

    Save as Draft Saves the information as a draft.

    You can edit the saved-as-draft information.
