Running the Model Builder - SQL Server

To create a Planning relational database for SQL Server:

  1. Open the Model Builder.
  2. Select the network protocol.
  3. Specify the name of the BI OLAP server computer.
  4. Specify the port number. The default is 8211 for https and 8210 for http.
  5. Specify the administrator user ID.
  6. Specify the password for the administrator user ID.
  7. Select the Planning OLAP database.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Optionally, select the check box to load Workforce Budgeting sample data.
  10. Optionally, select the primary and allocation dimensions. You cannot change the dimensions if you are loading Workforce Budgeting sample data.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Select whether to build the model using the Model Builder or to create a script for manual execution.
  13. Select Microsoft SQL Server.
  14. Specify the Planning relational database name.
  15. Specify the database password.
  16. Confirm the database password.
  17. Select the administrator authentication type.
  18. Specify the administrator user ID.
  19. Specify the password for the administrator user ID.
  20. Specify the server computer name including the SQL instance name if applicable.
  21. Click Test Connection.
  22. Specify the data source name.
  23. Click Next.
  24. Click Build.

After the relational tables are built, open Application Studio and verify the Workforce Budgeting Detail relational alias is set to connect automatically.
