Workflow
Before you begin setting up Workforce Budgeting, you must have Infor d/EPM installed and configured. This includes these steps:
- Creating and defining the Budgeting & Planning OLAP database and repository.
- Defining the planning cycles by activating dimensions and verifying dimension members.
- Starting the planning cycle to lock the dimension from changes. Workforce Budgeting uses any planning cycle marked as Started; it uses the Current planning cycle as the default selection.
- Dimensionality must be the same for all planning cycles used for Workforce Budgeting. For example, if Cycle A has Organizations and Primary Segment, all other cycles must also have Organizations and Primary Segment.
- Assign accounts to the Workforce Budgeting sub plan.
- Entity configuration must be the same between planning cycles. For example, in Planning Cycle 1, Entity A has a currency of GBP. In Planning Cycle 2, ; Entity A cannot have currency of USD.
- Setting up security by specifying permissions and roles. This process controls what dimension members can be seen by a user as well as what pages and reports a user can access. There are three predefined roles: WFBReadOnly, WFBPlanner, and WFBAdministration. See the Infor BI Repository online help for information.
Workforce Budgeting uses all allocation dimension members and all non-primary dimension members regardless of whether they are activated for the cycle and primary dimension member.
The initial setup of Workforce Budgeting includes these steps:
- Use the Model Builder to create the Workforce Budgeting tables and define the primary dimension. The default primary dimension is Entities. The Workforce Budgeting tables can be set up for allocations by selecting the desired number of allocation dimensions. You can define up to three allocation dimensions. Distributions are supported when allocation dimensions are not specified.
