Column Mapping

Use the Column Mapping tab to map the source data to the dimensions.

This tables describes the tab fields:

Field Description
Auto Map Click Auto Map to automatically map the dimensions to the source columns. Matching is based on an internal set of aliases that are matched to the header names in the source file.
Clear Clear the current mappings.
Fields to Map This section lists the Workforce Budgeting fields. Required fields are highlighted. A check mark in the box to the left of the name indicates the field has been mapped.
Dimension Configuration This section pertains to the dimensions in the Planning relational database.

The Member column displays the name of the Workforce Budgeting field.

The Source column is used to specify the source for the dimension. Select Column if the dimension member is in the source file. Select Member to open the Member Selection dialog box where you can select a member.

The Member column displays the selected member.

The Type column is used to specify whether to use the member name or member ID for mapped dimensions.

Workforce Default Settings Use this section to select a default value for key Workforce Budgeting fields. This section is available for:
  • Attribute Definition
  • User defined attribute values
  • Step and Grade
  • Action Definition
  • Employee Definition
  • Position Definition
  • Position Assignment
  • Action Assignment

The first column displays the name of the Workforce Budgeting field.

Use the second column to specify the source for the default value. Select Column if the dimension member is in the source file. Select Default to use the default value.

Use the third column to select a default value.

Source Source file and column mappings table. You can drag and drop from the Fields to Map section to this table.
