Step and Grade

Workforce Budgeting supports base salaries that are determined by Step and Grade schedules. Every record must contain all the information for the Step and Grade schedule including the schedule name, grade, and step information.

You can specify a default value for the planning cycle (CYCLE_ID), version (VER_ID), and pay type (PAY_TYPE).

These are the validation rules:

• Excess note text is truncated and a message is logged.
• Excess description text is truncated with a warning.
• Step rates must be consecutive with no gaps between the first entered rate and the last entered rate; gaps between the first and the last constitute an error and the record will not load.
• Step rates do not need to be in the first column, they can start and end anywhere within the rate column span.
• 99 steps are supported.
• You can provide an order for grades within a schedule.
