Configuring consolidation types and consolidation rules in Designer
In Designer you specify the scope of use for consolidation types and consolidation rules in Financial Consolidation. This applies particularly to the accounts and contra-accounts that are used by consolidation rules.
For the accounts and contra accounts you specify how consolidation rules eliminate or calculate values of these accounts. Also specify the accounts for the automatic posting of debit and credit differences.
To open the dialog Consolidation Settings, select in the tree. The dialog includes the tabs Common Settings, System Accounts, Cons. Debts, Cons. Expenditure/Revenue, Cons. Capital and Cons. Other. On the corresponding tabs, you create, edit, and delete rules and settings for the consolidation types Consolidation of Debts, Expenditure and Revenue Consolidation, Capital Consolidation, and Other Consolidation that define the scope of use that is affected.
Each tab of the dialog Consolidation Settings consists of two sections, one for the configuration of consolidation rules and the section Preferences in which you specify the target for differences.
On the tabs in the upper section Consolidation of Debts, Consolidation of Expenditure and Revenue, Capital Consolidation, or Other Consolidation, you configure the consolidation rules:
- You define the elimination of intercompany differences (receivables and payables). You specify, which type of elimination entry is created.
- You specify the consolidation base and the base account (Capital Consolidation).
- You specify the accounts to which the differences are posted.
- You specify the required threshold values for the consolidation.
- You specify the accounts and contra-accounts that are compared and eliminated against each other.
