Frequently asked questions
Why are separate subnets required for the VPN?
Each deployment of CloudSuite is standalone, meaning that it is independent of any other deployment. The purpose of a unique subnet is to support VPC peering, which joins two deployments as one. If two deployments are on the same subnet, they cannot be joined. Files cannot be moved between them.
If each deployment operates independently, does that mean I need a separate VPN device on my side for each deployment to terminate?
No. Multiple deployments can terminate on the same VPN device.
Will Infor transform traffic inbound into the tunnel to that subnet?
Yes. The addresses only exist inside the tunnel. They will not conflict with our real internal addresses that use similar ranges.
What VPN device is used by the Infor Cloud?
The VPN device that is on the cloud is the CohesiveFT virtual device, which works with a wide range of IPsec devices.
Why does Infor require a listing of customer (CIDRs) or customer subnets?
Infor requires that the customer provide a list of CIDRs (or IP address blocks) through which users will access the Infor Cloud VPN device. This list of CIDRs is required so we can forward traffic to servers or instances appropriately. It is acceptable to specify any or all internal address spaces, or you can get more granular and specify other ranges. Some customers take this opportunity to limit access. For example, you may exclude the guest WIFI network from access, allowing only internal business users to connect.
I have a SonicWall VPN device. How do I get the information to set up the VPN?
See the VNS3 to Sonicwall NSA IPsec Configuration Guide on the Cohesive website for information about the required settings:

I have a Cisco ASA VPN device. How do I get the information to set up the VPN?
See the VNS3 to Cisco ASA ASDM 9.2 IPsec Configuration Guide on the Cohesive website for information about the required settings:

What other aspects of the VPN are different from the one we may have today with Infor?
Each deployment of CloudSuite requires a VPN device to be deployed. Each deployment operates independently. This does not mean you need a separate VPN device on your side to terminate. Each deployment can terminate on the same VPN device.
