Creating a Custom tab

Using the Configure Templates form, you can create Custom tabs for every role, symbol, and class. These are used to create header fields, extension table and parameter filters.

The @DFLT role provides the default configuration. When you add the Custom tab to this role, the tab is added to the other roles.

For example, if you modify a role-based template, such as RL_ADMIN. The RL_ADMIN role does not inherit the Extension tab from the @DFLT role.

You can create a Custom tab that is unique to a particular role, symbol, and class. To create a custom tab:

  1. Select Configure > Configure Templates. The Role-Based Template Configuration screen is displayed.
  2. Select the required role from the list of roles displayed on the left pane. The respective form is displayed.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Click Create Tab.
  5. Specify this information:
    Tab Name
    The name of the tab.
    Tab Type
    The type of the tab. Possible values:
    • Upper
    • Lower
    Extension Table
    The extension table for the Custom tab. All the extension tables associated with the object are listed and the tables associated with Custom tabs are removed from primary Extension Tables tab.
    Note: You can assign only one extension table to respective Custom tab.
    Parameter Table
    The parameter table for the Custom tab. All the available filters associated with the object are listed and the tables associated with Custom tabs are removed from primary Parameters tab.
    Note: You can assign one or more Parameter Filters to a Custom tab when creating the tab for certain symbols that support parameters.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Save.
