Importing grid data from Excel

  1. Export the table to Excel using the Export to Excel option.
  2. Open the file from your Downloads folder in Excel.
  3. Add new rows or update existing rows with valid entries.
  4. Save the excel.
  5. Click the Import from Excel option for the table and select the saved file.
  6. If validation errors occur, correct the spreadsheet and import again.
  7. Review the imported data after successful validation.
  8. Save the object.
    Note: 
    • The row-update symbol scripts do not run during an excel import.
    • To import the data, the tables primary key needs to be included in the excel. Use the column personalisation to show key columns. For example, in Specification Parameters Row ID is the key column.
    • The data populated from an enumerated list needs to match the label displayed in the application. This data exports and imports the label and must be in the current language.
    • When you import Extension Table data, columns that use auto description are not automatically populated.
    • The Parameter Description, Line ID, and UOM Code are populated automatically when importing Specification Parameter data.
