The features in PLM Process Configuration and PLM Process Authentication are similar. The differences are:
- Only PLM Process Authentication enables you to apply an AD FS authentication profile without the use of Infor Federation Services.
- Only PLM Process Configuration enables you to download the configuration file for a given PLM Process application. This assumes that you are running Optiva Authentication; you can access the file from Windows Explorer.

In PLM Process CE Authentication, you can save certificate- and metadata files that may be found in property files. In PLM Process Configuration, you can download the configuration file for a given Optiva application. This assumes that you are running PLM Process Authentication; you can access the file from Windows Explorer.
