Sender Mode

In sender mode, the widget sends context information to other widgets. If a user selects a data element in the widget, the selected data is published as a context message.

Note: A data element can be a row in a Query widget, a data element in a Chart widget, or a card in a Cards widget.

The receiving widget can use the published context information to retrieve related data.

The Sender Widget ID identifies the widget and is used to send context messages and configure dependent widgets.

Sender Entity Type
The Sender Entity Type specifies the type of entity that is published when a widget is configured as a sender.
  • For dependent PLM Process widgets, specify PLMProcessWidgetMessage as the Entity Type.
  • If PLMProcessWidgetMessage is used, the context message type is inforWidgetContext.
  • When an Entity Type other than PLMProcessWidgetMessage is used, the context message type defaults to InforBusinessContext.
  • The Sender Entity Type determines the entity type published in the context message.
