Optimizing a formula using the Optimization Modeler

  1. Select Develop > Formula. The Formula form is displayed.
  2. Select the required formula.
  3. Select the Run Optimization icon from the toolbar. The Launch Optimization window is displayed.
  4. Select the required value in the Optimization Modeler field.
  5. Select the Run Initial Optimization check box.
  6. Click Start. The Run tab is displayed.
    Note: 
    • The Run tab is displayed only if the Run Initial Optimization check box is selected.
    • If the Hide Unchanged rows check box is selected, the value specified in Ingredient and Parameter grids are compared and the unchanged rows are hidden.
  7. Modify the required values.
  8. Click the Re-optimize icon. A new Run tab is displayed.
    Note: 
    • If the Compare Results check box is selected, the result in the Run tabs is compared and displayed in these colours:
      • Red: If the quantity is increased than the base quantity
      • Green: If the quantity is decreased than the base quantity
    • You can use the Delete option to remove the selected record.
    • You can use the Swap to edit option to move the Run tab as Input Formula which then becomes an input for re-optimizing the formula.
  9. Click the Send result into Formula icon. The Confirm window is displayed.
  10. Click Yes. The confirmation message is displayed in the Alerts window.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click the Perform Calculation icon to:
    • Update the calculated from the Ingredients grid in the Optimization Modeler to the Item Lines tab on the Formula form.
    • Update the calculated from the Parameters grid in the Optimization Modeler to the Parameters tab on the Formula form.
