Item Function

The Item Function defines the purpose of an item in product formulation process. For example, Yeast is used as a leavening agent in preparation of bread.

You can define a value in the Item Function field on the Main tab of the Item form. This value is populated on the Item Function column of the Formula and Specification forms.

When you click the Apply Rules option on the Ingredients Statement form, the Item Function value is defaulted from the Item Lines tab of the Formula form.
