Defining Roles
In Optiva, roles can be used to provide general level of access to objects such as Formulas, Items Parameters, Enum lists. The Form Security of a role defines this generic access level. This role provides the best access level a user. For example, an Individual formula may have less access available to the user depending on if you are the formula Owner, or a member of the Group named on the formula (call it ownership group), or “someone else”. The formula Owner and Group have specific security levels provided to them.
The “everyone else” value is your access otherwise, but only if the Object Security tab on your Role(s) gives you at least that much access. In other words, if you Role-provided Object Security for formulas is “Read Only”, and for a particular formula you don’t own via Owner or Group has “Read / Write” access, you can still only Read that formula. But you may nave more access to formulas you own.
