Attaching an expression to a parameter

You can create an expression in the Parameter form to:
  • Implement mathematical calculations
  • Use the expression when both equation and expression are specified
  • Retrieve, compare, and calculate values in the database for a formula. For more information, refer to Parameter- field descriptions. For more information refer to Parameter- field descriptions
To perform a calculation using expression:
  • The expression must be specified using the existing parameter.

    Example:

In the expression ALCOHOL= [ALANINE] +10.

    ALCOHOL is the parent parameter.

    ALANINE is the dependent parameter.

  • These parameters must be specified in the lab.
    Note:
    • You can perform the calculation for a formula using Perform Calculation option.
    • The dependent parameter must be specified after the parent parameter on the Parameters tab in the Lab form.
