Formula ingredients must be replaced for various reasons:

• The ingredient has been discontinued
• A less expensive ingredient is available
• A conflict between the ingredient and regulatory guidelines

This form provides a way to replace the ingredient with a different material or formula in some or all formulas within a lab. To replace an ingredient in all formulas in all labs, you must be logged into the Global lab.

Replacing ingredients can create new formulas that are assigned a new version number. That way, you maintain the original formula information. The new formulas can be assigned a different status and owner.

The new ingredient must be an item or formula in the database before it can replace other ingredients.
