Timeout values (FsOptivaWeb/Web.config)

The forms time-out and sessionState time-out values are 480 and 490 minutes respectively. These combined values ensure that the PLM Process web application does not time out prematurely. The portal that is used to host the application should time out before the PLM Process web application.

This is not the same as saying that Optiva only times out after eight hours. The portal has its own time-out setting which can be as long as eight hours, but usually is much shorter (e.g., half an hour). When the portal times out, a sign-out message is sent to the hosted applications at which point those applications sign out. A portal time-out or explicit portal sign out should always happen before any individual application times out.

You can use PLM Process Authentication or PLM Process Configuration to apply an authentication profile other than the CE one to the PLM Process configuration; the values are 120 and 130 minutes respectively.

To use values other than the 120 and 130 minutes, you must edit the configuration file manually. Edit the configuration file after you apply a new authentication profile.

Never change the minute values that are used with the CE authentication profile. Those values are 480 and 490 minutes.
