Locations
The attached documentation can reside on a network file server. If your
system administrator has defined a
DOCUMENT.ATTACHMENT
file location, all attachments are
automatically copied to that location. All users with Windows Explorer
permission to that location can access the file. Changes cannot be made to that
file. Make changes locally and attach the new version of the file.
To make network files available to all users, map the network drives locally.
Note: Use relative paths such as those produced by a
mapped drive (e.g.
S:\Docs\). That way, the documents can be moved to
another location and the mapping can be updated to that location. Avoid using
named locations (\\myserver\myshare); if the documents are
moved to another location, there is no simple way to update the location.
