Copying parameter values

  1. Open the Item form.
  2. Click the Parameters tab.
  3. Click Copy Values from... to open the Copy Parameters to Item dialog.
  4. Choose the source object and the parameter values you want to copy to the target item. Click the Copy Values to Target icon to move parameter values to the New Value column for the target object.


    Screen Element Description
    Clear new values Removes selected parameter values for the target object from the New Value column.
    Copy Values to Target Identifies the target object. The parameter values of the source object are copied to the target object.
    Filter Limits the display to a parameter category. Then, select the source object parameters that you want to copy. For this example, select DENSITY and CA.
    New Value

    Base Value

    		Shows the parameter values of the source object in the target object column.

    The parameter values from the Source grid are copied to the Target grid by the system. The parameter values are copied to the New Value column in the parameter’s Base UOM.

    Source Code The object that is supplying the parameter values for the target object. For this example, the source is item 01001. The parameter values for the source item are displayed in the left panel.

    Source Value

    		Shows the parameter values for the source object.
    Source Type The object type that is supplying the parameter values. The choices are:
    • Analysis (Results)
    • Item
    • Formula

    • Specification

      For this example, you are selecting Item.

    Value Type This field is available for selection only when the source object is Analysis or Specification.

    For Analysis, the choices are determined by the Analysis Row Tag on the Lab form.

    For Specifications, the choices are Min, Max, or Target.

    You can identify the Source Codes in the dialog. After you save the source parameter values to the target object, the target object is linked to that Source.



Any subsequent changes that you make to the parameter values of the source object are not updated automatically to the target object.

After saving, you can remove the link to a source object (in the Item TP Sourcing dialog). The value of the target item does not revert to the original.
