analysis
An Optiva object that applies calculations to parameter values to derive other values.
attribute
combine
List like-items only once in an ingredient statement and total their quantities.
explode
Show all items, sub-items, and constituents in a formula.
group
Set of items that are associated with an item group. For example, all
spice items that are assigned to the
SPICES
set can be displayed together in the ingredient
statement. -- Spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, salt)
Groups also allow constituents of related items to be combined and displayed. For example, the constituents of enriched flour and refined flour can be combined together in the ingredient statement in the Flours group: Flours (flour, enzyme, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin).
grouping threshold
A value below which ingredients are dynamically moved to a special
quantity group, such as
"Contains Less Than 2%"
. Even if the ingredients
belong to another group, they are moved if their quantity is less than the
threshold.
ingredient
Entry in an ingredient statement.
ingredient statement
The preliminary text that can be used to produce the camera-ready label copy. Properties of the ingredient statement control:
- The formulas that supply the ingredients
- The sort order for ingredients
- If trace ingredients are included or excluded
- If ingredient quantities are displayed
item
Optiva object, a component of the formula, that become an ingredient in an ingredient statement.
label claim
A collection of label claim rules. A claim is used by a Label Content object to generate product label claims.
label claim definition
The first step in creating a product label claim. It provides the underlying logic for evaluating a parameter code on a label claim rule. That rule is referenced by a Label Claim object. The Label Claim object is used to produce the product label claim on the Label Content object.
label claim rule
Associates a label claim definition with a parameter code. It also provides the claim text that is used on the product label after the rule passes.
label content object
The components of a package label. Other Optiva objects are collected and modified for the label. These objects include ingredient statements, analysis data, and text statements.
reporting threshold
A value above which an ingredient must be included in the ingredient statement.
row tag
An identifier for columns in the Parameters section or tab for label content. Row tags are created for results in an analysis that contains one or more parameter values that result from a specific calculation. For example, the MEAN row tag displays the average calculated value of each parameter in the row. A subset of row tags and the calculated values that are appropriate to labels are brought into label content. Other row tags for formulas, items, and specifications merely mean the columns in the label content and do not derive from an analysis.
section
The location for items in an ingredient statement. Each section contains one or more groups. A default section includes all items not assigned to a group.
sorting threshold
A percentage over which ingredients are sorted by Optiva in descending order. If ingredients are below the sorting threshold, you can change their order in the ingredient statement.
statement group
A collection of text statements that can be added as a group to the label content instead of adding them individually. After statements are added, they can be modified for each label.
statement rule
Constraints for ingredient statement, such as:
- Inclusion of an item. Below the reporting threshold, ingredients are optional for the statement.
- Replacement of a name. Ingredients can be identified by the item’s description, common name, aliases, or other names. Different statements can list the same ingredient by different names.
- Sorting of trace ingredients. Below the sorting threshold, the order of ingredients can be changed on the statement.
- The section of the statement in which the ingredients are listed.
- Whether top-level items, subitems, or constituents are displayed.
subsection
A section within a section. A subsection is associated with a separate group. In this example, spices are a subsection:
INGREDIENTS
water, flour, spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, salt)
