Infor Ming.le 11.x platform

These instructions only apply to Infor Ming.le 11.x.

After you exit the Optiva Authentication wizard, you must activate AD FS authentication for Optiva on the Optiva server.

In the Infor Federation Services (IFS) application:

  1. Select Configure > Applications from the menu bar.
  2. Select the instance of Optiva for your server. OPTIVA is displayed in the Application Type column. Initially, the Status is shown as Pending.
  3. Click Activate and add to ADFS.
  4. Specify the Administrator Credentials in the dialog and click OK. Now, the Status of the application changes to ActiveInIFSandADFS.
  5. Close the browser and log off the server.

To add Optiva to IFS, the OptivaSettings utility uses the web services that are provided by IFS. This is the only time that Optiva (only the OptivaSettings utility) makes use of any of the IFS web services.

After Optiva has been added to IFS, the IFS interface is used to add the Optiva application to AD FS.

When a user logs into the system, the Optiva application server communicates directly with AD FS. AD FS uses some of the information that is provided by IFS to communicate with SQL Server to determine if a user should be authenticated.

As far as Optiva is concerned, this is the only, tentative connection to IFS. After authentication occurs, the user is provided with a security token. This token is used to log in and run the web client application.
