Configuring Active Directory Federation Services

This section explains how to configure Active Directory Federation Services.

Having installed AD FS as a role on the Windows Server, a few more steps are required before AD FS can be used with OptivaWeb:

  1. Ensure that a certificate has been created and bound to the Default website in IIS. The certificate can be a self-signed certificate or a certificate obtained from a Certificate Authority (CA).
  2. Select Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > AD FS Management.
  3. Click the AD FS Federation Server Configuration Wizard link in the AD FS snap-in.

    In the AD FS Federation Server Configuration Wizard:

    1. Select the Create a new Federation Service option and click Next.
    2. Select the Stand-alone federation server option on the Deployment Type page and click Next.
    3. Select the certificate on the Federation Service Name page.
    4. Make a note of the settings on the Summary page.
    5. Click Next to complete the configuration.
